Speaker Addressing Audience

Corporate Speaking, Workshops & Organizational Consulting

Better workplaces aren’t created by wellness slogans. They’re created by healthier people, stronger leaders, and cultures that know how to respond when people are struggling.

Today’s organizations are asking employees to navigate extraordinary levels of change, pressure, uncertainty, and complexity.

Burnout. Mental health concerns. Difficult conversations. Disconnection. Grief. Workplace stress. Leadership challenges. Questions about psychological safety, belonging, relationships, boundaries, and how to support an employee who may be in crisis.

These aren’t simply personal issues that disappear when someone arrives at work.

They become workplace issues.

Dr. Kres Ashford partners with corporations, organizations, leadership teams, employee resource groups, conferences, and professional communities to transform complex psychological and relational concepts into conversations people can actually understand—and tools they can actually use.

Sessions are available in person, virtually, and in hybrid formats.

MORE THAN A PRESENTATION

A great workshop shouldn’t end with employees saying:

“That was interesting.”

It should leave them thinking:

“I know what to do differently now.”

Dr. Ashford’s workshops combine clinical expertise, current research, storytelling, interactive learning, real-world scenarios, and practical tools to create experiences that are engaging without sacrificing substance.

Depending on the topic and audience, experiences may incorporate:

  • Interactive exercises

  • Case examples and real-world scenarios

  • Guided reflection

  • Role-play and skills practice

  • Myth-versus-fact activities

  • Anonymous audience participation

  • Facilitated discussion

  • Practical tools employees can use immediately

  • Resources for continued learning after the event

Programs can be customized for executive leaders, managers, clinical professionals, ERGs, employee populations, conferences, and organization-wide initiatives.

MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK

From Awareness to Action

Mental health conversations have become more common in workplaces but awareness alone isn’t enough.

Employees and leaders need practical language and tools for recognizing when someone may be struggling, responding appropriately, establishing healthy boundaries, managing stress, and understanding when professional intervention may be needed.

    • Recognizing common and less obvious signs of emotional distress

    • Understanding anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns

    • Responding when a colleague or employee appears to be struggling

    • Supporting someone without becoming their therapist

    • Reducing stigma around seeking mental health care

    • Understanding emotional regulation in high-stress environments

    • Developing healthier approaches to workplace stress

    • Knowing when and how to connect someone with professional resources

    • Creating cultures where asking for support isn’t interpreted as weakness

Participants leave with more than information; they leave with language and strategies they can use.

SUICIDE PREVENTION & AWARENESS

Know the Signs. Know the Conversation. Know What to Do Next.

Conversations about suicide are difficult.

Avoiding them doesn’t make people safer.

This evidence-informed, trauma-aware training helps employees and leaders better understand suicide risk, recognize warning signs, respond when someone may be struggling, and connect people with appropriate support.

    • Understanding suicide and suicidal thoughts

    • Current suicide trends and research

    • Risk and protective factors

    • Recognizing verbal, behavioral, and situational warning signs

    • Myths and misconceptions about suicide

    • Appropriate and compassionate language

    • How to ask directly about suicide

    • What to do when someone says yes

    • What managers and colleagues should—and should not—take responsibility for

    • Connecting individuals with professional and crisis resources

    • Supporting workplaces following a suicide or significant crisis

    • Understanding grief and suicide loss

    • Talking with children and families about suicide

    • Building protective workplace cultures

    • Hope, connection, and the role each of us can play in prevention

Training can incorporate real-world scenarios, role-play, interactive learning, and practical response frameworks so participants aren’t simply told to “look for the signs”—they practice what to do when they notice them.

BURNOUT, STRESS & SUSTAINABLE PERFORMANCE

High Performance Shouldn’t Require Human Exhaustion.

Burnout isn’t solved with one wellness day.

Organizations that want sustainable performance need to understand the relationship between workload, stress, boundaries, emotional regulation, leadership, workplace culture, and recovery.

This workshop helps employees and leaders recognize burnout earlier and develop practical strategies for responding before exhaustion becomes disengagement.

    • Understanding stress versus burnout

    • Recognizing early warning signs

    • Emotional and physical manifestations of chronic stress

    • Boundaries and workload

    • The relationship between psychological safety and burnout

    • Emotional regulation during high-pressure periods

    • Sustainable approaches to performance

    • Recovery and resilience

    • What individuals can change—and what organizations must address systemically
